And I would like to either upgrade it in some way with $100, or buy some other tech gadget for the same price or less. Let the ideas flow.

One of the best for the money right now is SP920 http://pcpartpicker.com/part/a-data-internal-hard-drive-asp920ss3256gmc

yeah, I forgot about them replacing the nand, Silicon Power did the same thing to some of their SSDs too. Here's an alternative from OCZ, I have the 120gb version in my rig: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/ocz-internal-hard-drive-arc10025sat3240g

760 = 670

960 = 770

770 > 760

It's still an upgrade

Besides You can get used 290s/970s or a 280x

It's not as easy as you said.

Maxwell wasn't much of an improvement in speed as it was in performance. It uses much less power.

The 760 and 960 perform almost the same.

For example, the 980 performs in some games (at least back when it just launched) worse than the 780TI. But it has also a much lower TDP.

The Titan X is the only card right now, that really shows how much energy you can get out of Maxwell, but the TDP is also a lot higher.

So at the end, the upgrade is really not worth it right now. The 760 is still a great performing card. I would rather wait for either the 380/X cards or the 'GTX 1060' or whatever it will be called. The new AMD cards will definitly lower the prices of some already existing cards like the 970. Then it might be worth the upgrade.
