So some of you may see it as a pain in the ass while others *ahem* like me somewhat look forward to it. I've decided to embark on a quest to find the best tools for the best shave for the next year and a half. I'm starting out with a brand called Harry's https://www.harrys.comand I purchased their "Truman Set" for $10 ($15 without coupon) and I must say that the blades they produce in Germany are indeed high quality and provide a very close, comfortable and smooth shave with the shave cream they make which is made with eucalyptus and peppermint oils which hydrate the face post shave. I just got tired of using my Norelco electric razor and the random Neutrogena shave cream I use to buy which, the cream was not that bad but the electric razor would just chew my throat overtime I used it. 

 

Feel free to share what kind of shaving products you use and if you see shaving as a hassle or something you enjoy

I just use a Gillette fusion and Gillette foam, its pretty smooth to me.

After this year, I plan to switch to the Gillette Proglide and the foam to see how they compare to Harry's.

I did see it as a job for a while with that electric razor. Now I can look forward to it again.

I use the dollar shave club, not bad, i also used their face lotion, i like it but, ill be backing foam just cause i loke it. I did have a look at harrys stuff and liked the looks of the handles. I may give them a try. I wanted to see how long the dollar shave clubs razors would last, i would give them over a week for most people before it becomes uncomfortable. Shave 3 days a week,i have used a razor for over 6 months,not very nice to my skin. Have you seen the guy shave with obsidian?

Oh really? Well I glanced at DSC and I did not like the whole subscription idea. I can tell you the Harry's handle does not look like much on the website, but once you hold it, you can definitely tell it is a high quality handle. Also, the Harry's blades are meant to last a little over a month if you handle them properly. They're also about $2 a cartridge which is pretty cheap over the other brands.

I went from Gillette mach something shaver long time ago to an electric wet shaver and then to cut throat razor. Still using the electric shaver for trimming long beard hair (it's a dual head) but once you go cut throat with all the proper brush and shaving soap, it'll be hard to go back to traditional multiblade shaver again because shaving with it is so satisfying. But it will take some time getting use to it at first and expect cuts on your face if you are not careful. For post shave I just use Nivea post shave balm. I hate those alcohol face burning post shave.

Used normal Fusion, then switched to Proglide, I could tell the difference by smaller number od cuts (not joking). Actually I started with Mach 3 and it's Gilette from day 1. Seriously, shaving is annoying.

Yeah it can take a lot of time for the whole ritual if you want the full experience, like warming the lather bowl and massaging the face with pre shave stuffs going full metro.LOL. I don't really shave everyday because I'm busy too but you can always shave before going to sleep. At least by the time you wake up, your face wont have that post shave redness.

 

The feeling of that cold razor gliding and scraping the warm foam and facial hair off your face is just glorious and manly.

I use a merkur double edge razor for my face, usually shaving after a shower/bath. I have somewhat sensitive skin and if I shave while I'm still wet it works well. No cream just razor, then aftershave.

I also have the four blade dollar shave club razor for not my face, it also works pretty well.

If anyone ever tells you a safety razor is quicker or better, they're wrong and you should question your friendship. A good double edge razor is quicker than a shit safety razor, gives a better shave with less irritation, and is ridiculously inexpensive for blades.

I use a merkur 34c with astra blade.

Blade for DE are pretty cheap. I think i paid 12 cad for 100 blade. I use the blade for 3-4 shaving.

Who uses a razer? Just use an electric one. You can push as hard as you want and go as fast but you have to do it every day

Shaving seems like such a pain in the ass, I did at one point and never really felt like it. Now I just trim my beard once every few days and that's about it anymore.
