Up the motherboard to a cheap Z97. You're going to be holding back your i7-4790k with that H97. Alternatively, drop to an i5-4690k and then get a decent Z97 motherboard. The in-game difference between the i7 and i5 when both overclocked is less than 1fps.

Hey, former h440 owner here!

I would suggest that you reconsider. For me, at least, it was over 100$ wasted.

I think a lot of people would disagree with you including me, what was it about the case that you didn't like?

Sure, in the end it comes down to personal opinion. However, other than the great looks, because it's sexy as hell, the airflow, for me, just wasn't satisfactory. The back panel was a pain to close. The sound proofing was ok, but not really up to par with the retail price.

I eventually migrated to an Air 540 and I get the same noise level but cooler.

Hey Guys,

This is a computer that I may be building in the near future.

Any suggestions or opinions would be welcome.

Cheers!

Please don't get a h440 they do not have that great of airflow.

Huh interesting, I guess it just depends on what's important to you in a case but to me the great cable management, power supply shroud, SSD bays, and ecstatics outweighed the mediocre to average airflow.

great cable management ? xD it has like 1cm of space behind the mobo tray, i had to route most of my cables through the hdd bays, all in all i lovethe case though, would like to have better airflow and im working on a case mod to open up the front panel a little to allow more air but its still a good case

I think you're doing something wrong, I mean there's not a huge amount of space but there is definitely enough. I was able to route all the cables for a crossfire build with ease.

If it isn't too much for the budget, I'd upgrade that power supply. You'll probably be fine, but better safe than sorry.

with just my 8 pin cpu power and some fan leads it's already making a dent in the foam so I doubt I'd have room for the 24 pin and stuff. Either way it's a good case

Ah that's why, don't worry about denting the foam it's going to happen no matter what you do. There a lot more room there than you'd think.
