Is there anyway to fix this?

Unplug it?

Well that would defeat the purpose of having it, since the OS is installed on it.

Well, it'll come down to one or the other, have it on constantly, or turn it off.

Is the HDD LED on even when there's nothing loading to/from the m.2 SSD?

On my case the HDD LED is consistently on when the SSD is used (loading to/from it) and it flickers when the HDDs are being read/written from/to.

Some guy over on the Anandtech forum had the same issue with his SATA SSD and it turned out to be a trojan.

The led is solid even in bios

The led is solid even in bios

Someone with the exact same problem on the Asus forum (m.2 SSD, Asus Z97 motherboard, HDD LED always on, even before booting) got suggested to turn the HDD LED pin around. Last two comments.
