Hi everyone, so I just built my first rig last week and while I love the performance, the rear exhaust fan that came with my Corsair 300r is pretty load. So basically I want to replace that fan and buy 3 140mm fans, two to mount on the side to cool the gpu, and one as a top exhaust. I will be using a fan controller (NZXT Sentry Mesh). So I need 1 120mm and 3 140mm fans that move a decent amount of air, but will be dead silent when turned down on the controller as I will be sleeping in the room with my computer on. Oh and sub $15 would be great. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

These are a tad above your budget, but I think they would be very worth your money.

Corsair offers double packs of the 120mm fans that make them a little cheaper... but not the 140mm fans :(

Any good quality fan will be over $15. My recommendation would be Be Quiet! silent wings 2.

i suggest you the Enermax UCTB, http://www.enermax.com/home.php?fn=eng/product_a1_1_2&lv0=4&lv1=32&no=108

they are reaaaaaally cheap (i paid them 7.49 € on Amazon) but work very well, ultra silent even under full load, they perform better than the corsair and are a lot quiter! you only must buy something to install them, like screws or anti vibration stuff, because the 4 screws in the bundle are really crappy, but the fan is really good

i would recommand pwm fans sice you want a quiet system at night,

gelid silent pwm fans seams nice, add a pwm splitter to that and your fans will only ramp up under load and by then you re gaming with a headset...

Anything I write is just a comment, take is as such, there is no guarantees associated with anything I say.

ATX Portable rig (smaller than prodigy(LOL)) :  Nmedia 2800 | Gigabyte Z77x-ud3h  | Corsair HX1000 | Scythe Big Shuriken | i5 3570K  |  XFX R9 290 DoubleD | Corsair Vengeance 32GB

$10 fans I recommend the Gelid Silent 12/14, and the Logysis SF140/120.

Going up a bit I recommend a Cougar HDB 120/140. Corsair fans are pretty loud at around half to near full speed. They aren't the quietest when undervolted but it's pretty good.

If you want to pay the premium I suggest Be Quiet! Silent Wings, Noctua NF-F12/A14 FLX fans.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I did a bit of research and I decided that instead of replacing the rear exhaust fan I will just connect it to the fan controller and turn it down to keep it silent. Since I will be buying one less fan, that freed up my budget and I'm looking at 2 COUGAR CF-V14HB's as side panel intakes and a Noctua NF-F12 to replace the heatsink fan on my Xigmatek Gaia, which will then be used as a top exhaust. Does this sound good?
