Will work.

EDIT: Would suggest 2 290s or 290xs for 4k gaming at least.

So what should I upgrade?

I would swap out the 2 970's for 2 way crossfire 290X's or a 295X2. It will be cheaper than running sli 970's and with the money you have saved you can get a 1000 watt psu.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

I3 4150, Intel HD graphics, corsair CX750M, 4gb ram, Asus H81M-E, corsair 230T, Intel stock cooler WD Green 2TB Gigabyte 550TI

Why you shouldn't trust Gpu or Cpu boss Click on this I dare you!

Yeah most games will play at Very High to Ultra and hit 50-60 fps without AA enabled.

Ignore most of the people in this thread -- they don't actually have these cards at this resolution. I do.

970 in SLI is an insta bust, as VRAM doesn't scale and GTA V uses with 295x2 at least 6Gb VRAM, when you're limited with 3.5

What? That card doesn't even have 6GB vram.

Better wait for 980ti with 6gb ddr5. The Vram is going to be your first bottleneck. 3.5 on 970 and only 0.5 more on 980

Why did the console player cross the road?......To render the building on the other side.

The perfect system is one with no users.

Someone asked this question in an article I read a while back, they compared the following; Titan X, 259x2, 980 SLI, solo 980, 290x Crossfire, solo 290. In synthetic benchmarks, Metro LL, Battlefield 4, and Tomb Raider the 295x2 sat above the Titan X and under the SLI 980s.

Just from numbers and reviews, I'd go with the 295x2.

Although, we don't know specifically what FPS games you want to play, a good chunk of them will run at 4k with that rig. Maybe clarify exactly what you want to play and we can be a little more specific.

Sure about that? How many fps can they reach in BF4

Just so long as you're not trying to play Crysis  3 at max settings, you should probably be fine, just dial down the settings on demanding games for the optimal 60 FPS experience that we all expect regardless of resolution :P

Sure, but I´ve heard that with 4k, you won´t need it

Exactly you don't. People use it in benchmarks because shows up differences between very similar cards better, but it's just silly to use this when you're actually gaming at this res.

Correct me if im wrong but wont he need more than 8 gigs of ram if he's going to play 4k? Also, gpu wise should probably go with R9 295x2 or 2 R9 290's in crossfire 8 gig models.

No. Only game I've ever played that's wanted more than 4GB is Shadow of Mordor. Also the 295x2 "only" has 4GB as well.
