These are questions on rounding. For the first one you have to recognise square/cube roots that are close to those, eg 95 is close to 100, whose square root is 10, and 81 whose square root is 9. So it's between 9 and 10.

 

The second on is about knowing how numbers are rounded. If the last number is less than 5 you round down, if it's more than 5 you round up, so 5.23 could have been anything from 5.225 to 5.2349

 

The last one should technically have lots off but not an infinite number of 9s since 0.9999999999999999999999999999... = 1

Well, it matters how you round. And why only once. And even then. If you round once you round 5.2349 it would be 5.235. And if you need to round down to two after , if will be 5.24.

Well, it matters how you round. And why only once.

 

You only look at the number beyond the significant figure you're looking at. 0.49 is closer to 0 than it is to 1. It doesn't matter that the next decimal place puts it closer to 0.5 than 0.4, that's beyond the accuracy that you are rounding to.

scientific/mathamethical way you round up, because rounding up multiple times could end up with numbers being off, like your example.

5.23 became 5.24, small diffrence but when doing math/scientific stuff it's pretty imprtant to be as exact as possible, so you look to the nearest only and not others.

It's a question on how rounding works. What you are describing is not how rounding works, it's just wrong.

 

Like when do you start rounding? If the number you are rounding is irrational, or just never ending, like Pi or 2/3? Which number do you arbitrarily choose to start the rounding at? It's irrelevant. You choose the number of significant figures you are interested in, go one more than that and see if it's less than five, or five or higher.

for the second one, 5.234 as largest and 5.225 as smallest

There are many ways of rounding. What you are describing is not basic. Basic rules are either round up from .5 or down. I used up because that is what I was tought as basic. What you use is advanced because you approximate.
