I've been having a hard time figuring out which I like better. I've been switching back and forth all today, so far I'm leaning toward KB+M.

It's nice since they built in the control systems so you can swap between the two on the fly seamlessly.

I am just about to start the game, but I cant decide if I wanna use my dualshock 4, or use my keyboard and mouse. What is everyone else using?

I played witcher 2 and it was comparitively better than darksouls with a KB+M controls.

But If you tend to switch from the pc to your tv while playing(like me) play it on a Xbox controller(I'm not sure if witcher 3 natively supports dualshock controllers since ported games usually work with Xbox controllers rather than dualshock)

I will definitely use KB+M.

Witcher 2 played wonderfully with it.

I just brought witcher 2 to play that first but the locked key binding and mouse acceleration makes it almost unplayable :(

Its all about those volumetric clouds

Your choice of taste

  1. If you like reachable and ease of access buttons, with versatile mobility but less options, controller is for you
  2. If you like complete options but hard to reach button combos and rigid mobility, keyboard is for you.

Seriously this is pc. No controller talk please.

Seriously this is Witcher 3 PC and the OP is asking for Choice the PC offers you, using a controller or a keyboard.

I'm sorry, you are acting as if I've told you to sacrifice your loved ones. I don't see anything wrong with using a controller for some games...

Ease of access? I find more easy to reach everything I need and have more control with a Keyboard & Mouse, a lot of us PC gamers are used to K&M you know? Before you start saying that I'm a PC "purist/elitist" or whatever I own a 360 and XBone gamepads, I only wanted to clarify that "ease of access" is entirely up to the user.

Im holding WASD + Mouse and im told to reach K, P, and Right Shift. Im supposed to grow three hands according to the manual @_@.

Im just telling Controller is easier for combos, but when you have tons of skills to be used and there are no more Controller button for those skills, you're short-handed.

You really need to hold all the WASD + K,P and R.Shift all together at the same time? Come on, use some senses, check your key bindings, put them where is easy to do and learn to do "combos", actually not hard. Again, I'm not saying is wrong to use a controller, like I said I have controllers lol My point is that if you're used to K&M then there's no need at all for a controller in Witcher 3. You keep saying you can't and that's fine, you prefer to use a controller, that's fine I'm not an PC elitist, but that's YOUR choice buddy. If you can't do "combos" with K&M doesn't mean is hard, it's just that a controller is better for you personally. :)

You can disable mouse acceleration in config files.

You can also change key bindings in settings before launching game.

I think anyone should use what they feel more comfortable with. So what if someone uses a controller? For all you care, I can use fucking chopsticks to press the keys on my keyboard.

This made me chuckle, thanks! :-D

Btw, I've been using a controller so far, seems to suit me better for this type of game. 6 macro-programmable extra buttons do help, though.

I'll be trying the chop sticks next for sure.
