Which fans for Corsair H110?

None of them really seal the gap between fan and radiator.

If you're budget, look into Noisblocker Blacksilent Pros. Afaik they also have a rubber spacer to seal the fan against the radiator and they are very silent while providing the needed static pressure for water cooling.

who cares...

What do you mean "seal the gap"?

Also they don't fit my budget

BeQuiet! Pure Wings 2. I absolutely love their fans, push a ton of air, look good, and air fairly quiet even at full speed

Usually the squre frame of a fan should press against the radiators sides in order to seal the gap between radiator and fan. This wil help building up static pressure and not let the air evade out the side.

The fans that you psotet all don't have a proepr square frame and show gaps. Nontheless, if you want to stick with one of them, my vote goes for the bequiets.

May I ask why?

Both other options seem better built but of course if I knew which was better I wouldn't make a thread..

I have to point out the new Vardar fans from EK.

They're built only to be used on radiators, and they are IMO pretty amazing.

When in doubt: C4

Try those alpenfohn's, I've seen a few people using them on high end builds lately in the build log section.

The crap about 'not sealing to the radiator' is BS and barely effects anything at all.

For me it seems between those Phanteks and the Alpens.

Alpens seems better performance wise while Phanteks seems quieter. But that's just speculation.

The alpens also have PWM so you should be able to run them at pretty low RPM.

So do the Phanteks

The alpens are black and red though so it would fit my build more D:

I'll start watching some reviews :D

You need static pressure fans for a radiator. If there is a gap between the fan and the radiator alot of the pressure is lost. With a tight seal. the air is forced through the radiator better and provides better cooling. The blades on static pressure are designed better for this and the blades are designed with this is mind. A standard airflow fan (Which are good for as case fans) Will not build up as much static pressure = less effective cooling.

What I meant is, you should be able to get them both very quiet.

The difference in temps isn't going to be giant having a good seal or a mediocre seal.

As long as the fan is relatively close to the radiator it'll be fine.

I may get the Alpenfohns as they fit the build color scheme quite well.

What Lays said because the fins aren't extremely close together meaning SP isn't as neccesary

P.S I heard vibrating from my stock fans at idle on my H110, would I benefit from the extra padding on the Phanteks?

q

The stock fans kinda suck, they're poorly balanced I believe and just don't like to work greatly at lower RPM.

Mine vibrate too at under 7 volts.

About the whole "gap" thing, my SP120 quiet editions have gaps as well, and even at full speed, I can't feel any air coming out the side, only out of the other side of the radiator.

So the vibration pad things on the Phanteks aren't really neccesary?

It could help, I don't think it'll be a big deal though.

They mean with round frames some air can rebound off of the radiator and escape through an area not covered by fan or plastic. Square frames don't have any area not covered so they offer superior static pressure as far as rads go.

Personally I can't see it making a massive amount of difference -- even using static pressure vs airflow fans has almost negligible difference.

Which fan would you recommend?

Having said everything that I've just said, of those choices Phanteks and Alpenföhn look like they have the highest static pressure, so they should get you an extra degree or two of cooling. The Be Quiet ones are probably the quietest at sensible speeds.

Edit: Actually I'm not sure what @KamiKatze was saying, the Alpenföhn fan is clearly a square frame, and the Phanteks fan is very close to being square. Only the Be Quiet looks like it's specifically designed for air-flow at the detriment of pressure.

Yeah I'm stuck between those two D:

My color is black and red so should I get alpens?

They do look good. I can't attest to how effective or quiet they are since I've never used them.
