I am located in australia, and am looking to purchase a gpu for between $500 to $700 aud (about 330 - 470 usd) wondering if a used 6800 for 500, a used 6800 xt for 600 or a 7800 xt for 700 is worth the investment. These are all available on marketplace where I live, and I am wondering whether or not to just buy new.

Check youtube and search something like 6800 vs 6800xt vs 7800xt, theres often videos directly comparing these cards and their performance, often the more money spent on a gpu it ends up with slightly diminishing returns, a $400 card might get you 60fps but an $800 card might get you 100-110fps, its not double performance for double price, you pay a small premium for the extra and more advanced technology. Therefore, if youre okay spending what you want to spend on a given amount of performance, then id opt for that, if youre not satisfied with, for example, the $400 6800, and dont mind spending a little extra to get the performance you want, look at the 6800xt, repeat until desired and youre at a price-performance balance that satisfies you
