Anyone know how loud the 290X Tri-X is?

Just curious. I heard it gets loud at full load.

If you are running the fans at 100%, there is something wrong with you. I have the 290 Tri-X and it isn't that loud, at least for me.

Any fans will get loud if you set them to 100% fan speed.

 

I know for a fact that Sapphire's coolers are rather quiet and dissipate a good amount of heat. So I don't believe that they're loud at all.

For a single card, keeping the GPU <80°C, not loud at all. I have two of them and when I had 1 it was barely audible while gaming. That was with good airflow and 20-ish °C ambient.

I had the 290X Tri-X, it's a really quiet card, about the same as the Hyper 212 Plus at the same fan percentage. Decently quiet unless you manually ramp up the fans to high speed to get them gr8 temps

Do note that the Plus is louder then the Evo that everyone's used to. Under low load it's definitely not audible over case fans, CPU, PSU, etc. but you do hear it a bit when gaming. Also depends on case. Mine was in a Zalman Z11, if you have something like a Define or H440 with noise dampening it'll be less noticeable.

I am planning a quite build. I was going to get a 290 (not X) Vapor-X but the Tri-X gains like 10% increase and is cheaper. I am going to use a Define S and all out on Noctua fans with the cooling. :P
