Cheapest CPU for Dual R9 295x2 GPUs

Sure, then get the i5 :D

Probably your best bet.

Btw are you going to xfire both 295x2??

you dont have to actually connect them via crossfire if its just for folding, but yeah, ill be putting them both in an mATX system. It will be a total of 4 GPUs on two cards. ive been wanting to do this for a long time.

Collecting every single CPU in existence? Is it possible? I have no idea, but i'm sure gonna try! http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/341848-dont-throw-away-old-cpus-im-collecting/

at the mATX size? and within a decent price range?

Yes... Kind of, but if you are going to mATX, you're going to need X99, which will blow you pricing out of the water. AND... I just said that 2*8 may be a bottleneck. ALSO: your going to be running mATX with 2*295^2s??!! That thing will explode! Another question, what PSU are you running...?

the PSU ill be running will be a EVGA SuperNOVA 1300 G2. Im not sure if it will be able to supply enough Amperage. I may end up having to go with a dual PSU setup. If you have recommendations for an mATX board and a x99 CPU i would appreciate it. the build as it stands now is here: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Pcz4kL

I'd change the ssd and add a 4gb ram stick, the rest looks fine :D

change the ssd to what? I want the speed of an ssd, plus thats a cheap ssd. I dont want a mechanical just because its cheap. i would rather go with an ssd and pay a bit extra. and why would i need more then 4Gb of ram? I will not be gaming on the thing.. :P But i guess 8Gb wouldnt hurt anything

Multitasking

For the SSD try to get this one: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/sandisk-internal-hard-drive-sdssdp128gg25

theres like 3 dollers difference and the only real difference is brand... why is the sandisk better?

Also, i dont know if you can help, but i want to get somthing with more PCIe lanes afterall? is there a z97 CPU that will give me more then 16 PCIe lanes? i may have to go i7 if i have to

nope, unless you want to go full atx or maybe e-atx motherboards that have plx chips that can handle 16-16 PCIe lanes

The v300's nand is pretty bad, kingston changed the good nand (i have that one) to bad and cheaper nand, so that makes it sorta slower compared to the previous v300 gen.

You can either go with adata or sandisk or other brand, but aviod the kingston v300 series even-though they are cheap

So there isnt anything that will fit mATX and provide more PCIe lanes? It doesent have to run at x16 x16 speeds, just want more lanes total.

Also, if i were to go full ATX, which board and processor would you recommend then?

Thanks. If i were to go with a full ATX build, which board and CPU would you recommend then? sorry for askin all these questions :P
