Hi!

I was considering getting be quiet! Dark Rock Advanced C1 but pcpartpicker says that it doesn't fit in my case (nzxt s340). What cooler would you suggest? I'll be using i7 4790k and I plan to overclock it :)

My bugdet is about 50€ not more than 100€ and I'll be ordering in Germany.

Thanks for your advice

Get a decent 120mm AIO like the H80 or Seidon 120V. They are relatively cheap and take up a single fan slot of your choice.

Noctua NH-U12S fits in the case.

That one looks nice yes, also noctua has great reputation :) Will consider this one :)

Do you already have the 4790K? If not, do you really need it? You could always drop it to a 4690K and get a better cooler like the H100i, Dark Rock 3, R1 Universal or NH-D15..

They are cheap, but is it worth it? Do cheap watercoolers cool the cpu better than midrange air coolers?

Coolers like these cost more and are louder and perform worse than air coolers for that price.

Get be quiet! Shadow Rock 2, it has 160mm height and your case support 161mm.

Well what are you doing with your build?

On most things I have allready decided. Msi z97 gaming 5, i7 4790k, GTX 980 ... I'll be using my setup for video editing and 3d animations. I will be ordering within a month, therefore i'm looking for perfect parts to suit my build.

Are you going to OC it much? Because I got a watercooled i7 4790K and mine get's up to like 70-70 when I'm playing (my CPU is 4.8GHz)

And I've hear a lot of people complaining about the temps on that CPU :)

From time to time I'll OC it to test its limits but otherwise on daily bases it will be overclocked a bit, just to speed up things :)

Ah okay :) Well it automatically boosts itself to 4.4 which is a fine clock with low temps (in my computer though) :)

I use this pump/res: http://www.inet.se/produkt/5331204/reservoar-ek-d5-vario-x-res100-incl-pump

And this CPU block: http://www.inet.se/produkt/5331234/block-ek-supremacy-evo-original-csq

My overclocked Gigabyte GTX 980 G1 Gaming has a temp of 39 when running extreme benchmarks, so yeah the cooling is fine xD But the CPU likes to go up high :P But when I get the new motherboard I'll check and see if it's anything wrong with the Thermal Paste :)

Well I doubt that I'll buy custom water cooling (just because of my budget). For now I'll probably stay on air cooling and maybe in the future in case of upgrade I'll do some kind of custom watercooling.

keep the i7 4790k, it will crap all over the i5 4690k when overclocked.

I will keep an i7, don't worry. I'll take a look on those coolers. I need to check some reviews and side by side testings :) Thanks!
