Hi guys,

I will be building my first system before the End of next month once I gather the funds. The purpose of this system will be for gaming, I will also use the system for virtualization, programming, web design and web browsing.

I went with the X99 platform because I wanted the latest platform and for future proofing.

I will also be upgrading the RAM to 32gb at a later date.

I have a budget of £1200.

I am unsure on a few parts such as the Case and PSU.

Case - I have gone with the Enthoo pro case but am also considering the NZXT H440 or the Air 540.

PSU - I am unsure on which brand's are reliable and how much wattage I will require, I will be going with a better GPU further down the line such as 980ti or the titan x. I need to PSU to be enough wattage for any upgrades I plan on doing in the future.

UPDATE!

PCPartPicker part list: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/VxVKLk

All three cases you listed are good so pick whichever you want.

For PSUs from these 2 brands any PSU you pick will be good: Seasonic, Super Flower

Then these brands have also reliable PSUs: EVGA, Antec, XFX, Silverstone

For Titan X single card you will be enough with 600W - 650W PSU but if you want SLI two cards then pick 750W - 850W.

£1200 is a bit hard to work with for x99, Youd honestly be wasting your money. An i5-4690k and GTX 970( 980 if you can squeeze it into then budget) Will be plenty. Can we get what you've got picked out in PCPartPicker?

For 1200 I don't think you should go with an X99 platform. Like @DarkBlade2117 said, an i5-4690K and a GTX970/980 would be ideal.

Super Flower? I've never hear of them  And I see they make some really good PSU's.

They sell in Europe mainly and Asia I believe. You will rarely find them in US but they are OEM for EVGA so when you buy high end EVGA PSU you basicaly get Super Flower with EVGA branding.

I'm from Europe and I don't know a single person using it  Everyday you learn something new  :D

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

In my opion you are getting more for the money with this build ( http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/KyHmjX ) You can still get 32gbs of ram later. This will just as good if not BETTER then the x99 build. Room for SLI in the future. Any case of your choosing will work, Id go for the H440 Red/black or noctis 450 but it's up to you :)

Would I not be better going with an i7 for virtualization, programming and gaming?
