“I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down'.” - Bob Newhart

A Hackintosh niche would be nice, but three things will stop it.

  • An actual purpose of having one. There are other forums for this stuff already, like Hackintosh Zone and tonymacx86.
  • The fanboy backlash. What stops Apple haters from shitposting in the section? Moderators, but they're not always around.
  • Lack of needing a section, since such can fit right into Operating Systems and Software.

I think he means Hackintosh - PC with Mac OS not the OS it self. For builds and such.

The only difference between a Hackintosh and any other system is the OS.

I though that you cant have just any hardware in order for it to work. I mean.. that only certain motherboards support it and such and I understanded that OP wants section on forum for builds where people can suggest components on building hackintosh machines.

It's just like how you wouldn't be able to use an audio driver in place for your mouse.

In other words: 'Duh.'

For build suggestions, there's the New Builds and Planning subforum.

There's nowhere near enough content to justify a subforum for hackintoshes - if you're planning a build, you can post it in New Builds and Planning and they should be able to help you out; if you're trying to figure something out or troubleshoot an issue, the Operating Systems and Software or the Troubleshooting subforums are probably what you're looking for.

For future reference, if you have any suggestions, please post them in the Forum Suggestions thread, which is linked in my signature.
