Hi

I am looking to get a new router and want it to help minimise my lag while gaming as well as being a good performer as 3 people are nearly always connected doing something be that surfing, downloading or video streaming while I game. Also if its a decent price as I don't really want spend a fortune on one , thanks.

The impact of the router on lag is so minimal above a "competent" level, investing large quantaties into something you won't notice is some def. diminishing returns...

First tell us what you have now..

Dude, there is no such thing as a gaming router, most routers are gonna give you the exact same speeds/latency at a certain price point.

How much bandwidth a household can use at a one time is dependent on your internet plan not router just make sure you get one that's able to do speeds in slight excess of your plan

You should upgrade your internet, router probably wouldn't do anything unless you got one from the early 2000's..

routers are not the problem in some rare cases they are, but gaming routers don't exist  are you using wireless or wired at the current time?

I have fiber connection with about 30 down and 1.5 up. I was using the standard ISP router and have just purchased the tp link TD w9980 but am returning it as it isn't very good and causes me problems and now I can't even game so I was just looking for a router preferably cheaper than £90 but something around that that is reliable and had some good specs
