Using different brands won't cause any issues like glitching, if you have a blower card and you get a non blower card make sure that you put the blower card in the bottom slot and not the top.

It's AMD, you could probably crossfire your 290x with a microwave. They don't care

Nude Fist 1: i5-4590-ASRock h97 Anniversary-16gb Samsung 1333mhz-MSI GTX 970-Corsair 300r-Seagate HDD(s)-EVGA SuperNOVA 750b2

Name comes from anagramed sticker for "TUF Inside" (A sticker that came with my original ASUS motherboard)

In before the FX will bottleneck the cards, you need 1.5k jigawatts PSU with that CPU + GPUs combo.

Compared to SLI it's so lenient, if you called AMD it might go something like this

"Can I crossfire these-"

   "Is it a graphics card?"

"Yes."

   "Does it say AMD?"

"Yes."

   "You're good"

"I found this motherboard in the garbage"

"Don't worry it probably supports crossfire anyway"
