gtx 970 vs. 960. Will i notice a difference?

Thw 970 is significantly faster than a 960. There's more difference between a 960 and a 970 than between a 970 and a 980.

 

What resolution will you be playing at? You may also want to consider getting something inbetween like an r9 280x or r9 290, both faster than a 960 and the second almost as fast as a 970.

Right now im shopping around for a new graphics card. I've  narrowed my search down to a gtx 970 and a gtx 960.  Obviously the 970 will run a little better, but the gtx 960 is about $100 less.  If i get the gtx 960, will there be a noticeable difference? and if so, is is a $100 difference?

 

(money isent my main concern but i would like to save some cash)

The 970 will give you MUCH better performance in games than a 960 and worth the extra $100.

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

Get 970 bro, getting 960 is a bad move (I'm not saying that 960 is the worst, well 970 is much faster than that GPU).
