Your CPU will bottleneck your GPU's performance, I would switch it out for an i5, and if you have that cooler may as well overclock it too

Yeah, and if you wanted to trim some money you could switch the cooler to a hyper 212 evo, and you could even get a lower watt power supply, a 600W would be fine.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't PCI connectivity handled by the chipset of AMD CPU's so wouldn't that mean that the CPU really doesn't determine the PCI throughput therefore making the only thing that could bottleneck the GPU the chipset.

So technically this card would be fine if he went with a 990fx or 970 motherboard chipset.
