Got my first android need some help

So I recently have gotten a Galaxy S5 and I was wondering what is the best sms app since the normal message app is crappy. I like to be able to customize contacts ringtone each time they text me. I tried Go Pro SMS but the ads are kind of annoying. Also are there any go to apps I should have?

Try ChompSMS, it looks great, it has ad's but they are super non-intrusive and it has quite a few customization options :)

My Current Build:

I use Hangouts, as mentioned above. I actually use Hangouts more as Hangouts than I do a text messenger. I'm big into the game Ingress, and my contact to other players is almost strictly using Hangouts. Aside from those conversations, I have 4 text conversations going on to the people I contact the most.

BTW, Whatsapp should be free the first year you use it. It'll give you more than enough time to get a feel for it ;)

Haha good :) I've been using it for about a year and I love it :D
