Why do YOU play CoD AW?

As I'm sure many of you are aware CoD AW is having a freeplay weekend right now. As a person who has refused to touch the series since world at war I thought it was finally time to give it a chance. And boy was a let down.

I spent my first match dialing in my sensitivity and controls. I learned that there is no way to turn off the inherent mouse acceleration without dropping your mouse to 175hz, something I'm not ok with. Other than that everything was just ok I guess.

My second match in I was on a map I had never seen or played on. I went 33-7 against 3 level 50 players. I had the stock gun with stock perks and no attachments. It was.... piss easy. I come from CS go and I play around a double AK level. I found the gameplay very unrewarding and in general just... Meh. There was all sorts of flashy instant gratification medals flashing on my screen after each kill. Im probably just jaded from my many many hours in CS, but the shooter was just insanely easy.

I'm curious why anyone would play for very long...

I bought it when it came out, i literally have no idea why.. And it is probably the biggest waste of money in my steam acc.

No one plays COD for a challenge its something that you don't have to invest a lot of time into to play and do well at, also the ranking up system as well as the random loot from supply drops is a good incentive. I never touched CS GO because it was something that i would probably have to invest time into the play at a decent level so you know fuck that. You probably played against easy people as rank is like the worst measure of skill in the game.

It's easy because half the people are mentally ill and run around with an smg not caring about tactics or any of that. They just want to run around and shoot guns

I sometimes reinstall COD4 OP, and rek everyone. I get like like ~50 kills, and ~3/4 deaths. CoD players in general, are just bad.

So its not just me that finds the game a joke and instantly uninstalls after one match... well. Makes sense its popular on console.

Because I don't have Titanfall on my Xbox 360 (my current laptop can't run Titanfall or Cod AW, I have no choice).

People, get Titanfall instead of Cod AW.

Depends. Playing demolition in a competitive basis is quite tactical. Or at least it was on COD4 and MW2.

The thing that bothers me the most is that after all this time they STILL don't have a mouse acceleration option. I can't stand acceleration.

Becuase my 12vie brother bought it and I rarely play to see how bad people are compared to CS:GO.

keep playing it and you will get your ass handed to you. I don't like it myself, I prefer mw2 and black ops, but theres probably a good chance that you where playing against quickscopers or something.
Just because they are level 50 doesn't mean they are good, you level up no matter what in cod if your're the shittest player in the world or best it doesn't matter, you will level up unlike cs go which you need to be good at.

Cod aw uses skill based match making, so you where a very low rank with pretty much no kills etc and where classed as a low skilled player. You where put in games with people of your skill, so yeah level 50 but probably shit lvl 50's

Fair enough. Still a piss easy game. And the fact that I can't get rid of mouse acceleration means I will not be putting in the time to try and play against higher ranks.

The acceleration is a joke and makes it feel slippery and sloppy shall we say. But yeah, once you've played a fair amount of games you will be put in lobbys with people close to your skill level. Then the challenge comes in.

Like you said though the game is shit, I don't want futuristic jumping pogo stuff and I also don't want ww2 stuff, black ops or mw2 era is a sweet spot.

Not fond of the futuristic stuff either. I prefer the older games more. But it looks like CS is still my only constantly playable FPS these days. Hardline is a joke. Sadly.
