I like their partnership with SolarCity - If they managed to cover like 1/3 of the Sahara Desert, they could eliminate the need for any other power methods worldwide.

Yup, me too. But I think this is an event whereas that was just the announcement of the product.

They also didn't announce it in the form that it has now, as the one that was talked about before looked like your standard electrical box and pricing was not detailed. 

 

This product is really damn cool, but I think the cost would be an issue for some, but combined with solar panels, this thing should be pretty damn great!
