Hello,

I'm thinking of upgrading my gpu. Now i have 2x gtx 660 ti and i feel like its struggling in the newest games with decent good looking settings and above 100fps ofcourse for my 144hz monitor.

So should i upgrade to a 980ti when it comes in few months i hope or the new amd 390x in a  couple of months, or just wait at all to pascal if it even comes in 2016 like the saying its 10x faster i doubt it but who knows.

i think my cpu is still good and doesn't need any upgrade i5-2500k not overclocked atm but i will in couple of weeks.

Thanks

So what you're asking is should you wait or should you wait? lol

Generally i would say:

Upgrade now and be happy with it.

When and if the 980ti comes, the 1000 series would be the next thing (propably) So there's always something to wait for. (Same goes for the 390x)

If you really want an upgrade, then i suggest the 970, 980 and the r9 290x.

If you want to wait, then wait till the summer break is over.

And the 10x faster thing? That's only said to be in computing power.

It's not going to be a 10x FPS and it's years into the future IIRC.

Basically: Are you happy with the performance of your pc?

If not, then upgrade.

When in doubt: C4

Lol that's what I thought aswell...

Go for the 970, 980 or 290x if u want to upgrade now.. or wait for the 980t and amd r9 300 series. No one can tell what is better.. since they're not out yet, there are merely rumours.

I can't remember a time when a new generation of anything ever brought a 10x improvement. That would be a 1000% improvement. We're lucky to see 20% most of the time.

If you're fine with waiting (you must be because the options you gave us are both waiting) then wait for benchmarks and pricing..

I wouldn't wait for pascal. This generation hasn't even been fleshed out yet. There could be delays or low yields or any other number of problems with the next gen. Actually, if the next generation includes a new process node, I would almost put money on delays.
