Help with Boinc and Folding@Home

Hello LTT users,

I was wondering if my PC could only be used part time to fold. Also, how would I go about getting an account setup?

Sincerely af19

I haven't done BOINC yet, but the short answer is "yes". The simplest way to achieve part time folding is to tell it to fold only when idle. The account setup should all be on the F@H page. Just follow all the instructions and prompts while you set it up and it should all be taken care of.

You do not need an account. If you are just starting out, i suggest waiting to see if you like it before getting an account. You can fold without an ID.

Google the "Folding at home Chrome client"

If you like it and want to get a little more involved, there are links to the desktop software on that page.

Pretty much this.

Go here for instructions :)

But to make it seem less convoluted and abit more straight forward.

It basically boils down to. Install the client, grab a passkey from here:

http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/getpasskey.py

Go into the advanced client to the left corner(configure > identity). Enter

a name, enter our team number: 223518, enter the passkey, Voila.
