How easy are NZXT Phantom cases to scratch?

Rather specifically, how easy is the black Phantom 530 to scratch? I'm considering getting one as a new case since my R4 is trapping heat like crazy and would love to know if it will actually look good two years down the road.

Do you go to LAN parties or something ? Because I don't know why your case would be so messed up in two years...

I'm not saying it would be messed up in two years, my R4 just isn't doing well in terms of actual airflow (and all of the fan holes are occupied with AF140s and Silent Series R2s pulling in and pushing back.)

 

I don't go to LAN parties often, I may bring my computer around a couple of times per year.

Pretty hard I have a switch 810 and got a source 210 in yesterday you would need to gouge the case paint to really scratch it.

I'm not talking paint, I'm talking the glossy plastic on them.

ah the plastic is the same boat for it, its tough to scratch

Similar to pretty much any other decent quality glossy black plastic. Which is why I got the white Phantom.

 I have had the 410 for about three years and it doesnt scratch at all. I do transport it a good bit too. 

 

Howeve, the white plastic does become slightly yellow (especially when in contrast to the white metal side panel) when its regularly exposed to the sun. 

Mine gets about 4-6 hours of strong sunlight a day (again for three years now) It is a very slight discoloration. 

Bleigh!  Ever hear of AC series?

If it's trapping heat, have you considered just simply removing the side panel? I leave mine off and gains are pretty substantial.

Current Rig: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, Abit IN9-32MAX nForce 680i board, Galaxy GT610 1GB DDR3 gpu, Cooler Master Mystique 632S Full ATX case, 1 2TB Seagate Barracuda SATA and 1x200gb Maxtor SATA drives, 1 LG SATA DVD drive, Windows 10. All currently runs like shit :D

If it's trapping heat, have you considered just simply removing the side panel? I leave mine off and gains are pretty substantial.

 

I use my Corsair 750D with no front panel and opt to only have the Fan filter, pretty decent temps under 30%ish load

Hmm, mine still manage to get under 30F CPU, 40C GPU, but then again, it's a Q6600 and a GT610.

My Ambient temperature is in the 28-32C region - and both are Overclocked :P
