This or that?

Ok guyz since i will buy a new pc i need some help because personally i am in big trouble choosing between these two.My idea is to get a gtx 770 or radeon 7970.Maybe in future i will get another one for sli or crossfire but for now will be only one of these.Yes i plan to play on big resolution.

Ps:I am looking for performance,yes i know is not a big difference between these two but better fps is always welcome.

if you are planning wait for what AMD have rumoured for october the 9970 or whatever they decide to call it.

In most benchmarks the 7970 wins but not by much. There are some games that the 770 wins. Also if you are planning on adding a second card, sli is having less issues than crossfire, but if you can wait, as Coombzy said the 9970 is rumored but it will probably be at a higher price point.

I would say just wait till October if you want to get an AMD card so you have have the latest gen from them. But if you want Nvidia get the gtx 770.

October yes, killer deals ahead. Why? New cards- smaller manuf- process - more transistors, less electricity ( i expect 9770 to be fed by pci ), NEW BUNDLE ! ( sell games- LOADSOFMONEY ) and nvidia will drop prices obviously. 

How i love rival between amd and nvidia :D only good for consumers

The 770 should be better most of the time for 1080p but with the extra vram, the 7970 should be better for high resolution gaming.

The 7970 can also be found significantly cheaper than the 770.

If u're planning to CFX, wait for review of HeartBeat driver that suppose to fix frame pacing in AMD gpu crossfire configuration on 31st this month.

 

Or if you can't wait, just use RadeonPro. :D
