The Witcher 1, worth getting?

Go to solution Solved by PlayModeOn,

Been playing it for a week now, I am thoroughly enjoying it, apart from the first two hours of boringness and bad framerate from the FX-8350. My first core is at 100% usage while the rest is at idle.

I know a place where I can get The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director's Cut for $7. Is it worth getting?

I remember playing the Steam free weekend edition of the game and I got bored at the beginning of the game but that was a long time ago and I didn't had the patience back then. How is the graphic of this game? Do I need to play the first game in order to understand the second game? (It doesn't matter what answer to this question since I will play the first game anyway :D)

Most people say "YES GO BUY IT NOAWWW!" but I don't understand why.

$7....even if you hate every last aspect of the game it wouldn't be a loss.

Buy it....and yes, worth it.

I am sure it was on sale for 3 $ yesterday on Origin (......I know), along with Witcher 2, but I can't find it today. Witcher 2 is still there on sale though

I'd say it's worth it since both 1&2 are often bundled together for ~5 bucks. So, even if you hate witcher 1, you can still enjoy witcher 2 and be well-prepared for the 3rd.

Something is wrong with your computer then. I've got an FX-8320 paired up with an R9 290 GPU. My frame rates are always above 195.

I got it on steam for 1.70$ not even a week ago. The witcher 2 was also on sale at like 4 bucks.

Are you running at max settings at 1080p?

Indoors I get 190+ FPS

Outdoors I get 50FPS ish.

I got a R9 290 Vapor-X, and the FX-8350 only uses one core to run the game. I have a second monitor that monitors my hardware usage.

Oher games run fine - BF4 at max settings, 120FPS.
