Hey all!

I got my 970 about 2 months ago and love it.  I have been wanting to OC it for a while, but im not sure i want to, or am ready to.  I cannot afford a new card, and overclocking voids the warranty.  I want to know what the failure rate is for the MSI Gaming Twin Frozr V 970 overclocked by a total noob.  Thank you.

I am a beautiful person who is a good idea to have a good time to time and money to buy a new job and I need some help with the same time for the first time in the middle of the day.

There's no risk if you take your time and don't do something stupid. However, if you are happy with your performance now, don't do anything to it until you are in a better position to (possibly) buy another card. Again, no risk if you take your time.

Use MSI Afterburner

Set the fans to about 80%, then just crank up the core and memory, then use a GPU benchmark to test stability.

That's not supposed to do that....

I'm sure it's fine as long as you don't start messing around with the voltage. Even so I think nvidia have many safe guards to prevent damage.

If you don't do anything stupid, overclocking shouldn't kill or damage it at all.

overclocking is very safe with the 970 since you cant really make it overheat

its very power efficient so even with the voltage maxed out it wont overheat

unless you load a custom BIOS of course, but then you risk bricking your card, so dont do that, just OC normally

if you OC normally and something happens to your GPU there is no way of knowing if it was overclocked, so you can still return it if you have warranty

i overclocked my asus 970 to 1560 on core and gained 10 fps. also i overclocked my friends msi 970 and easily hit the same 1560 with no extra voltage as for the memory his memory sucks a** and couldnt even oc 5 mhz. and btw when i say 1560 i set it to around 1470 and gpu boost brought it up to 1560 by itself. if you dont want to mess up and ruin your card just see how far you can go on stock voltage and leave it there
