Water cooling a 960

Go to solution Solved by STRMfrmXMN,

I do wish I could water cool or phase change cool my chair, gets hot sitting in it all day.

I really need to get around to watercooling my sidewalk. Damn that thing gets hot in the summer.

Yay I have two gigabyte g1 gaming 960s on the way for an upgrade for a client and I need to water cool them. I really have little experience with wc. So could someone tell me where I could find a vga block, how many rads if I also am cooling a cpu also any pump suggestions with finally serial or parallel

Why would you ever water cool a 960... Their's literally no point...

I doubt they even make blocks for it...

Just remember: Random people on the internet ALWAYS know more than professionals, when someone's lying, AND can predict the future.

Agree with the others, there's no point in water cooling it. There's really no point in water cooling most of the 970's

Would you water cool my phone while you're at it?

And does anyone even make a water cooling block for a 960? I kinda doubt it.

Do they even make blocks for it? That sounds like an immense waste of money.... its like getting a custom loop for an i5.

Fractal Design Define R4 | MSI x79a-GD45 | 3960X @ 4.6Ghz | Lots of EK Blocks | EVGA GTX780Ti 3GB | Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB (4x4) DDR3 1866 | Samsung 840 Pro 512GB SSD | Western Digital Red 2TB x4 (Raid 10) | Corsair AX760 | Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

Does anybody make a watercooling block for the Antec BP350 PSU I have? Perhaps I could watercool my dogs....

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

Not that I can see. If the client was foolishness enough to insist on a full water loop Ek Thermospheres would have to be used and even then the VRMs would be exposed and additional heatsinks would have to be bought.

OP, seriously. Don't do it.

Ok, well there goes a lot of commission ;)

It would be an immense waste of money and there aren't any blocks for the 960 let alone the G1. You'd have to get ones that only cover the actual GPU and would look no as aesthetically pleasing as leaving the stock cooler on.

Why not make it out of ice?

I like where your mind is at.

Ok, well there goes a lot of commission ;)

I mean, if they really want it, do it. But as far as I know, no one makes a block for the 960's because they don't need it, ever. My 970 barely generates heat under full load, running three monitors for a single game. Hell, the monitors generate a greater volume of heat than the GPU does.

Now that I think about it....

I live in Oregon and it rains a lot. So I get watercooling pretty much year round xD

Just don't try collecting and storing that rainwater, apparently that is theft, because the government now owns the rain.

Maybe a ghetto cooler? Get a H80i, strap it on with zip ties and bingo you got a watercooled 960.

I remember linus doing a showcase on something like this in a NCIX video.

~~~SnapDragon~~~
