Webcam Advice

Hi there...

Im looking for a cheapish webcam for a friends son. His son turns 16 in a few days and has always wanted a webcam but unfortunatly his dad is out of work so only his mum works and money is tight so i thought i will buy one for him. He wants to primarily use it for Skype to talk to his cousons and Aunt in New Zealand.

Here is the cam i have chosen, it has very good reviews and can do 1080p at 30fps.

thats only 1080p recording, not video streaming

if youre going to live video call with skype thatwebcam will probably only do 720p video

the only webcam I know of that can actually do 1080p skype video calling is this one http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX44064

because it actually advertises 1080p skype video calling

from what I have seen in other webcam reviews, even if its a 1080p webcam streaming will only be 720p

i would go with the one that @Enderman recommanded if 1080p skype is a must, because skype kinda shits down the quality often and is very heavy on your connection, meaning it will probablly decrease the quality and fps more if it feels like.

if it isnt a real must i would go with the cheapest of the 2 or the brand/one that you trust the most.

altough personally i would go for the logitech one, it's a proven brand and it will last for quite some time, that's sure.
