got a really cheap Dell 4K IPS panel a 2715Q...

So ended up scrapping my 670GTX and buying 2 used ASUS 970 Strix to do a bit of 4K gaming, i know they are not 60FPS in ultra 4k, but they do the job, and they were quite cheap (and free of coilwhine).

but will i need a new case? the 9xx should be efficient, so they should be cold, and we have had fairly high room temps, since i live i a "glass" house and the sun has been heating the house up to 26-28 degrees Celsius (a dane, so thats quite hot for us)..

im running a..

Fractal Define R4 (2 AF140 in the front (intake) 1 AF140 as rear exhaust + 1 AF140 in the sidepanel (intake) spinning 350RPM)

Noctua DH14 cooling a 4790K

the 2 top 140 positions are still closed with the noise dampning material

RM850 Corsair

the cards a idling at 33 bottom 35 top (fanless), but a bit of youtube then the temps are more like 44-46degrees.

at Hardline 4K it runs 74 top 72 bottom, are these okay temperature?, the fans on the GPU are tuning 50-55 % fan speed on auto

should i upgrade the case, ordered Noctua 140mm fans for the top exhaust, since i feel on fane exhausting (the rear) might not be enough.  (don´t care about the color clash for the noctuas, im not to fond of the Corsair AF´s, the old days i used pabst, and normally i run noctuas)

got a -snip-

those temps are fine. after 80C the card will thermal throttle, above 90C is dangerous. those temps are perfectly normal.

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

+1, unless its a 290! But otherwise below 80 is fine

yeah had to swap my server with my main, my old main had a M-ATX SLI motherboard with 1 x x1 port between the cards, felt it was a bit to snug..

edit **

i think the 970´s a a bit to slow to buy EK for, watercooling a "sup" system like what i have today seems like a waste of money, and with a newborn upgrading CPU and SLI titans seems a bit of a waste, and the titans are 1800 USD a piece in DK, were i used around 450 on the 2x970´s so i need to get them to work acceptable..

the fun part, i actually rather want to play lower detail in 4k than 1080p with max settings, the higher resolution... i simply love it.. never thought i would, but moving back to my old 1080p screen is like moving from a retina ipad to a old generation ipad, looks really bad.

Those are perfectly fine temperatures.

You only need to worry if they reach temperatures in excess of 90 degrees C.

i have been playing a bit around with the fan curve...

apart from a bit better idles, the only way to fix my load temps are more case ventilation at the moment.

ordered 2x140mm Noctua fans, and they will be running in the top... then lets se what happens.
