Partitioning a hard drive for the OS

British_Monarchy

Hi, I am going to be building my first PC in the summer but while I want an SSD for my OS my budget won't allow for it. I am wondering whether it would be possible for me to partition off the OS and only the OS in one part and have all the documents and programs in the other part of the HDD. When I do accumulate enough money to get and SSD would I be able to then just shift the partition with the OS in it to the SSD (I will also have some larger games in there, looking at you GTA V) or is this not possible/too difficult.

You can use programs that will clone the HDD to the SSD. Retail SSDs normally come with software for that.

Will I just be able to clone just one partition or will the whole thing shift over??

You should be able to clone both partitions over.
