At a $200 price difference, you're better off considering the GTX 980 before the 780 Ti.

In Australia, the 970 is around 500$ and the 780Ti is around 800$ :\\\\\\

Buy used cards on forums. The classifieds here is ok and overclock.net and hardforum are good places to look too.

Soooooooo I'm stuck between which graphics card to get for my rig...

I've done hours of research on these 2 cards (including looking at the Windforce 970 Edition and also the FTW 2.0 970 as well) and it seems that the 780Ti out performs the 970 series' cards in almost every way ? (probably not, I just most likely haven't looked hard enough)

 

Which do you prefer and why ??? I'll be stuck forever if I don't get any opinions hahaha HELP

980 would be the best option but it depends on how much you wanna spend and how much performance you want

I have  2 780tis and game at 1440p 144hz and have yet to be vram limited so that wont't be a problem. I would still recommend a 970 as it's a newer card. idk where you live but in Canada a 780ti is still going for full price...

I have the 970 and blast through all games at max settings. Seriously if the price jump is that bad I' d get the 970.

GTX780Ti is a better performance card, at the cost of increased heat, power, and price.

 

GTX970 has better performance:price ratio, is still really good, and is generally waaaaay cheaper.

 

So I don't know how you're getting these cards, if you can get the 780Ti at the same price I'd say go for it.  But if you have the cash for a 780Ti at the prices they're going for new at retailers... Just get a GTX980 or even 970 SLI?

About 500mb of vram less, but more performance. Go go 780ti. Cool to have a top model regardless of generation
