I heard the 960 wasn't that good of a card but I  beg to differ

I upgraded to a  4gb one from my Radeon 6950 1gb

And WOW there is a big difference :)

My Tests so far:

Watch Dogs (Maxed out) 40fps

(Ultra) 60fps

Witcher 2(ultra) 60fps

w/ ubersampling 40fps

Shadow of Mordor (max settings w/ ultra textures) 60fps

can't play far cry 4 though still needs patching :(

My PC Specs: CPU: Core i5 4590 @ stock speeds, GPU: RX 480 8GB, RAM: 16GB DDR3 @1600mhz

Case: Zalman ZM-T4,Motherboard: GigaByte GA-H81M-S2H LGA 1150, HDD/SSD: 2TB Seagate Expansion drive, 1TB Samsung Portable HDD, 160gb Intel SSD, PSU: 550w corsair cxm

At 1080p, 960 is fine for now I guess.

Noone ever said it was slow, its just not very good for the price / theres better alternatvies for the price. Im also not sure if 4GB even makes sence on a 960.

One word , r9 290.

Oh wait thats two.

The r9 290 is about 45-50% faster for the same price as a 4 GB gtx 960.

Enjoy.

I picked the GTX 960  for 3 reasons

1. it came with a free copy of witcher 3

2. The scilence and power usage

3. I want to use PhysX and all that fancy stuff as well as g-sync and Game stream :)

My PC Specs: CPU: Core i5 4590 @ stock speeds, GPU: RX 480 8GB, RAM: 16GB DDR3 @1600mhz

You should have gotten the 2 GB version for that resolution.

The 4 GB version puts it in r9 290 territory.

And the r9 290 is about 7% slower than a gtx 970 so.

I agree with the 4GB 960 being pointless. At that resolution and, imo, any resolution.

I think someone wanting to play a game at the highest settings and with lots of AA and textures, ie people who actually will find 2GB a limitation, wouldn't be looking at such a pointedly mid-range GPU as the 960 or 285 anyway.

I got 4gb because it was cheaper than 2gb at the time
