Kingston?

Go to solution Solved by Samsterstorm,

What capacity should I spring for? I only use about 200 GB on my laptop (Buying SSD for new Gaming PC). I plan on playing Arma III, Minecraft, Battlefield, FSX, and other titles.

You will need to use SSD just as boot drive because those all add up to more than 256gb! Have a 256gb SSD for boot and applications and then a 2tb or 1tb HDD for a games drive

I am planning on getting a SSD for my build and I was wondering are Kingston SSDs even worth it? Any help is appreciated!

They are not that good. The Kingston SSD's are just a bit faster than HDD's, so that's why they are so cheap.

The Samsung 840 EVO drives are good (Crucial MX100 too if you go for 256GB)

EDIT: I meant the Kingston V300 SSD's. Their Kingston HyperX drives are decent

They are very good mid to low range SSD's, hence why I have one! They are very very well built and come well packaged.......... If you wanna go high end or above 256gb then go for a intel or samsung SSD which as not necessarily faster just more reliable.

Basic its personal choice now a days SSD's are almost all over 500mb/s anyway...... (claimed)

Oh yeah, those are decent. I immediately think of the Kingston V300 SSD's.

My mate has a V300 and its not really much faster than a clean HDD I have to say............ Hence why I chose the 3k

Ok. What model of SSD should I get? I plan on spending $100-$200 most likely.

I would go for a kingston 3k because for the price they are pretty good............ What capacity you want???
