Best Gaming Laptop with a 980m? (Preferably Lightweight and under 17 inches) (around $2850 budget)

RenzoRaptor

Hi , I would like to ask the community for guidance on what Laptop I should purchase. I would preferably want something that is Lightweight and has a 980m in it. It should be around 15-17 inches. The one i'm eyeing on right now is the Gigabyte P35x it has a 15.6 inch screen and only weighs around 5 pounds and lastly it has a 980m. Any thoughts will be much appreciated.

Clevo P670SG or 650 are a decent choice especially if you want that 980

Also consider the MSI GS60 Ghost which is a really nice thin light 15" (though its a 970m, still a great machine)

Alienware 15 and 17 could be an option too, especially if you fancy the graphics amplifier though the laptops are a tiny bit bulkier

Gigabye p35x or p37x though they do suffer from thermals

Aorus X7? has SLI 970ms and is very thin (again might suffer thermals)

Not this gen. They're more locked-down than ASUS machines this time around, it seems.

But they're also the only remotely cheap ones, and some of the only ones that are even remotely portable while still having good cooling

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it

If that's what you're after, the Clevos are still cheaper, less locked-down, less likely to throttle with 47xxHQ CPUs and are about the same size. There is literally no point to them this gen, excepting the AW13, which thankfully has a higher TDP headroom on its ULV chip and is fairly decent for what it is; price included.

P670SG with 16GB RAM, 4720HQ, 1TB 7200RPM HDD, 1 year warranty, Win 8.1, 980M, etc: $1770 including shipping (can be discounted from this)

AW17 R2 with 16GB RAM, 4710HQ, 1TB 7200RPM HDD, 1 year warranty, Win 8.1, 980M, etc: $2049.99 (with $50 discount already applied). Unsure if including shipping.

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.
