Bitdefender High RAM Usage

restart the PC and see the RAM usage at idle

Hi

I just installed Bitdefender total security

When i open the task manager

my RAM usage is at 56% (8 GB of RAM)

Highest to lowest

1) Bitdefender Security Service (248.7MB)

2) Google Chrome (210.0MB)

3) Malwarebytes (198.3MB)

4)Media Player Classic (105.6MB)

Isn't it a little high for an AV program to use 250 Mb ?

and is it okay to run it at 50-60% RAM all the time ?

TIA

Does this occur all the time or just occasionally?

When I used Bitdefender, unless you had an active scan running, memory usage was minimal.

Seems it is only goes up to 50%++ if i use the PC after 6 hours ++

i turn off and on my PC like @dragoon20005 said, and its back at 33% (Chrome 3 tab, Torrent, Media Player Classic, Bitdefender, Malwarebytes)

I used Bitdefender for two years and would notice that it had repeated updating issues which would cause it to use too much ram. After a number of installs etc to clean everything up, I gave up on it. I gather from other forums that a number of people were suffering from the same issues and that the definitions update was poorly coded and creating issues for users.

If it helps, I now run MSE and Malwarebytes, no cost and equal or superior protection.
