Which card do I have?

Oldaccount1234123
Go to solution Solved by insayan,

Check the clockspeed, the 3x runs at 1.11Ghz, the normal one at 1.08 and the gaming edition runs at 1.18

Pretty sure there is no difference between the cards other than clock speeds. Check what speed your card is running at

Windforce G1 Gaming = 1.18ghz

Windforce 3x = 1.11ghz

Do you have the box? The higher clocked Windforce has "G1 Gaming" written on it

Hi everyone, I need some help.

I want to know which card I have in my PC:

Windforce 3X 970

or

Windforce 970.

How do I find out which one I have? It was installed the other week by the insurance company and they just said it was a GTX 970 - no real detail.

Thanks,

Daanish

You could simply have a look inside your PC.

Oh wait... I failed. Sorry :x

Was the 960 I was talking about. Damn it. I'm not here

You could simply have a look inside your PC.

There are currently 4 different Gigabyte 970s out.

• the mini windforce version with one fan

• the medium windforce version with two fans

• the normal windforce with 3 fans

• and the overclocked windforce G1 Gaming

If you have a G1 Gaming, then it is written on the backplate.

It has 3 fans. On the side it simply says "Windforce".

Which bit is the backplate?

Edit: xD, just saw you change ur post

Edit 2: Downloading GPU Z to check speed

Don't listen to me. I was talking bs :P

Simply download GPU-Z. It'll tell you your clockspeeds.

Shouldn't have mattered in the first place though, you could even SLI with 2 different brands if you wanted as long as they use the same chipset series (like the 970 in your case)

Really? Would look a bit weird though. What do you suggest I buy for the second card.

Also, what is a good cheap card to stick in my current machine for selling purposes only?

what are the specs? most likely it will be something around the 260x since that's where you will get the most performance/price ratio.

It won't be that weird if you have the G1 on top, cause aside from the backplate the sides look identical. Get the G1/Windforce non-3X

What do you mean selling purposes? Like, just to show that the PC works and everything?

Pretty much that. I doubt people will want to buy a computer with no GPU, so wanted something cheap to stick in it
