I wouldn't go for an i7 unless you plan on doing video editing or have atleast 1 980.

For gaming I would go with either i5 4690/k or 4790/k. k stands for unlocked processor that you can overclock. If you don't intend to, get the normal version (non-k).

Intel Inside.

Idiots Outside.

You don't have to be a massive fanboy about it.

If Zen thrashes intel you would change your mind.

OP: Intel

Nvidia is to Dr Dre Beets as AMD is to KFC.

One makes you broke, the other you can get more of and have a midnight snack from the fridge when hungry again. Once you go Nvidia, you go broked, turn into an Elitist, or get the incorrect amount of VRAM.

I was only 9 years old. I loved Fifflaren so much, I had all the NiP merchandise and matches pirated. I prayed to Fifflaren every night before bed. Thanking him for the life I have been given. Fifflaren is love I say. Fifflaren is life. My dad hears and calls me a fuckhead. I knew he was just jelly of my passion for Fifflaren. I called him a Sw@yer. He hits me and sends me to go to sleep. I'm crying now, and my face hurts. I lay in bed and it's really cold. A warmth is moving towards me. I feel someone touching me. I feel someone touching me. It's Fifflaren. I am so happy. He whispers in my ear; "this is my pyjama". He grabs me with his powerful Swedish hands and puts me on my hands and knees. I'm ready. I spread my ass cheeks for Fifflaren. He penetrates my butt-hole. It hurts so much but I do it for Fifflaren. I can feel my butt tearing as my eyes start to water. I push against his force. I want to please Fifflaren. He roars a viking roar as he fills my butt with his love. My dad walks in. Fifflaren looks straight into his eyes and says; "He is a ninja now". Fifflaren is love, Fifflaren is life

...is this a joke or serious? Weakest AMD have to offer vs one of the more powerful Intel CPUs...

You can do the opposite, too.

AMD vs Intel!

AMD FX-8350 vs Intel Celeron E1200

WHICH IS BETTER FOR GAMING

Especially for a MMO like WoW: Intel.

Intel are the only CPU's you should consider as a MMO player.

i5-4460 is a good one for it's price.

i5-4590 for a bit more single thread performance.

i5-4690k for overclockablitiy and the perfect CPU for gaming. No more than this is needed unless you have some productivity on your horizon...

Then the i7-4790k is the all-mighty.

CPU: Intel i5-4690k                                                               RAM: 16gb Corsair Vengance Pro DDR3-2400                                                                     Case: NZXT S340

Fair enough. Clock speed means basically nothing these days.

Yeah I know, but you know how it is. more is better when you lack knowledge.

@Curlynrt always ask when you are not sure, forum will help you. :)

Even at the point that you have a 980 an i7 still isn't needed. Maybe for the e-peen.

Spoiler

i5 4670k, GTX 970, 12GB 1600, 120GB SSD, 240GB SDD, 1TB HDD, CM Storm Quickfire TK, G502, VG248QE, ATH M40x, Fractal R4

Spoiler

i5 4278U, Intel Iris Graphics, 8GB 1600, 128GB SSD, 2560x1600 IPS display, Mid-2014 Model

Spoiler

All the parts are here, just need to get customized cords to connect the motherboard to the front panel.

Well that depends. In games that make use of more than four (real or imaginary) cores, such as Thief, you'll get a benefit. Not a massive one, but it's there.

Ha, ARMA's hell on the CPU. I see 5960x users suffering in a similar fashion as i3 users.

The optimalization is... well... not great. But the i7 and up still helps.
