Should I upgrade to Skylake?

if you were still on sandy bridge then maybe it would be worth it but seeing as you are on haswell, your probably wasting your time unless you were going to make the jump to socket 2011 skylake. Wait till post cannonlake before you upgrade on the mainstream.

Desktop -  i5 4670k, GTX 770, Maximums VI Hero, 2X Kingston Hyper X 3k in raid zero.

Laptop - Lenovo X230 Intel 535 480GB, 16GB Gskill memory, Classic Keyboard Mod, Triple USB 3.0 Express Card.

I upgraded from 2500K to 4790K, very nice improvement in CPU pig games(eg. Planetside 2).  My 2500k will be moving into a HTPC, so it will live on for quite some time.

yeah, cannonlake is post skylake.
