Yes. Get a 970 or a 980 for 1080p.

Edit: Or wait for a possible 980ti

If you want to play in 1080p buy yourself a GTX970. If you have money to burn and want to go crazy get a GTX980. Don't buy a Titan X for 1080p it's a waste of money. This card is made for 4K.

If you are going 1080p, get an R9 290x... Titan X is more overkill than a .50 cal machinegun vs. a plastic bag.

lol tbh, i would personally get the titan x for 1080p then upgrading to 1440p. if you have the money, then why not.

but a gtx 970 is enough for 1080p.

If you want 1080p ULTRA get a single GTX980 as overkill. All these other solutions sound ridiculous for 1080p... people won't admire you for that but rather laugh about you.

The 970 does that. I run a 1080p panel on one of my rigs... and one can handle 1080p no issues. With 2 I do DSR 4k.

The projects never end in my line of work.

How many more times you are going to post this?

A GTX980 is lots of overkill in 1080p...

GTX970 or 290x is the absolute max you need for 1080p. Both run 1080p games "with their eyes closed".

Even the 280x is mostly enough.

Titan X for 1080p? Are you crazy? ;)

It would be a pure waste of money, yes. Especially when you could get an R9 295x2 for much less.

Agreed.  GTX 970 for 1080p (1200p for the 16x10 crowd), GTX 980 for 1440p (1600p for the 16x10 crowd), and Titan X for 4K.

970 can max out 1080p right now and should for at least another 2 years probably longer
