Considering getting a trackpad for browsing, and i'm trying to consider my options.

Magic trackpads are pretty cheap on eBay, and they have removable/replaceable battery. in other words, it'll last longer if i end up loving it.

Or i could get a logitech T650. A T650 is basically a magic trackpad for windows, but i don't know if it's as nice. I know it's got a plastic case, as opposed to an aluminum one.

What does linustechtips think? Should i even bother with a trackpad, and if i should, which would be better?

I'm definitely not buying these new, it'll be used from eBay. They're both cheap there, and i have a 10$ off coupon for some reason

I think they aren't that good, because they put more stress on your hand

I don't see how that would be possible, you're doing less movement using a trackpad than a mouse

Ew, idk why you would ever want one

I use a low sensitivity mouse, and it's cumbersome web browsing sometimes. I like using trackpads (at least on my laptop) for browsing, so i figured this might help solve the issue.

Also apparently macmixing edits all his videos on a trackpad, so that's a pretty damning testimonial as to the overall expirience

Gross, why? I'm curious why you'd like one on a desktop?

But what about the millions of people here who use a mouse all the time?

The only benefit of a trackpad is the portability! Mouse is better in every way, ease of use, ergonomics, accuracy, etc.

Apparently asking a gaming forum about trackpads is a bad idea

If you want a different experience, get a drawing tablet.

It works as a touchscreen kinda, if you put pen in upper left, curser will go uper left.

its kinda like a trackpad, but directly relates to the screen.

the apple is also good becuase of its size. not huge but big enough you dont have to turn the DPI up high to get across the screen.

That's actually the only reason i ever considered a magic trackpad, apple trackpads have always been the best (or so i've been told)

Well, i was going for the whole ease of use thing, but that is an idea i never considered.

I feel like using a pen to browse would be a bit strange, lol

You never know if you dislike something until you try it. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

You say, as you support the people telling me not to do something :P

I'll probably end up doing it anyway, the coupon expires soon and i don't think i can find anything else to spend it on that's cheap. And experimenting is fun, right?

The Apple trackpad is superb if you must go for a trackpad. Great for doing browsing tasks, but you'll soon find yourself placing it by your stomach to use it properly.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
