Lets start this right off, budget is around £200 ($297-$300). This does not mean you have to use it. Im looking for the best ALL AROUND headset, in terms of sound quality, looks (subjective) comfort, features, mic, etc. Value for money is also a big factor, id rather not have to spend £100 more than i need to when i can instead spend it on games or hardware upgrades. Personally I have been looking into the sennheiser G4ME ZERO, which is outstanding in every single category, save for value for money. So, i wonder what you guys can come up with, happy hunting!

Why not go for headpones+stand alone mic?

Much better value IMO

I personally us the Sennheiser 558 which sound and feel amazing. They are open back which is an issue if your around alot of ambient noise but are much lower than your price range. Like others have said get a modmic just in case you jump around to different headphones.

To be fair i have thought about this, but there arent any good standalones in my price range, in that scenario it would be ideal to spend £100 on each, and while there is a myriad of great £100 headphones, decent standalones are at least £150, not to mention im not a streamer and my desk setup is not ideal, and the mic would be off to the side somewhere, and i also have a lot of background noise.

Also everyone seems to be saying use the modmic, is it really that good?

Yeah Linus', Jayz' and Tek Syndicat's review said it was really good, but I.. I have also heard quite a few complaints about it.

I understand that a desk mic might not be the best thing for you, since you desk is not fit for it..

But can I still recommend it to you?

In your budget you can get something like this:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B002VA464S/ref=s9_simh_gw_p267_d0_i3?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=00QB9PA1Y9NGZFNJ05G8&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=455333147&pf_rd_i=468294

And

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Audio-Technica-ATH-M50-Monitor-Professional-Headphones-Black/dp/B000ULAP4U

Which is a bit over budget, but I couldnt think of any other headphones at the moment :P

The AudioTechnica AT2020 is also really good, but couldnt find a good Amazon UK link for it.

Th Yeti is not bad.. A lot of YouTubers use it.

You are probably confusing it with the Blue Snowball, which many people say is not as good (but to be honest, that one is also still good)

Might do some review hunting, if i were to get the modmic for example, i could end up saving £60 to be spent on other stuff, while i like the idea of having the yeti, i dont think its practical enough for my current situation.
