Phone taking forever to charge

I have a iPhone 5, and I've been charging it ever since I got home today.

 

It was completely out of battery when I started, and 4 hours later, it's only at 88 percent.

 

Is there something wrong with the phone?

Sound: Custom one pros, Audioengine A5+ with S8 sub.

Are you using it whilst it is charging? If you are, then that's why...

Also, if you have a whole bunch of apps running in the background then that will slow down the charging. Close all the apps and shut off the phone and let it charge and it will charge faster.

Downloading programs from CNet is not a good idea, as they will commonly include unwanted, and sometimes dangerous bloatware... The more you know.

It's been on standby since the moment I've left it charging. Nothing can be running in the background on an iPhone while it's locked.

Try turning it off completely whilst charging

Try putting it into airplane mode. That speeds up charging on my nexus 5 by about 30%.
