Naw bro. I recommend that you add 4 Titan X's and 10TB of SSD storage to make that high end. Your 5820k is borderline, getting the E5 2699 would have been better. Or you could have waited for the new extreme editions.

Also, that CPU cooler is weak, get a Nepton 240L

A build isn't high end unless your wallet comes screaming for mercy.

That all, of course, was a joke.

I plan on by the end of the year having a Titan X, 2TB SSD(s) and a 1300Wt power supply.

Why do you need a 1300 watt PSU for a single Titan X and a 5820? You'd be absolutely fine with a 750w there.

Considering about half of gaming folk have PC's weaker than the current consoles (at least Valve says so), your rig does fall on the "High-End" side of the average rig specs bell-curve. Congrats.

I don't think its legitimately possible to have a PC weaker than the current consoles unless they're running graphics cards crappier than 400 series GTX cards and less than an i3 dual core CPU.

Trolling? Those look more like Xbox 360 specs, my man. The PS4 and Xbox One, which share mostly similar specs overall, run more like $200 - $250 rigs, which isn't bad, but not for spectacular gaming/rendering.

The computer you have is high end to you, but may not be for others..

Because it's subjective to what people class as high end.. for a content creator/gamer yours could be a lowend baseline.

You don't have a 120/144hz triple monitor or ultrawide setup, you don't have SLI,. your CPU isn't the absolute best of the best on the market...

See what I mean,... it's highend for you,.. not not necessarily for other people.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

If you think that's trolling then...you know nothing about PCs.  If I took a GTX 470 and plopped it in a PS4 with a regular CPU that had the same specs as the CPU part of the APU, it would perform much better than it is currently, assuming of course the extremely underpowered Jaguar crap they use doesn't bottleneck the GPU.

If you think hardware is the is the sole indicator of performance... you know nothing about PCs.

The consoles have the luxury of having all of their hardeware drivers optimized for a specific set of hardware. This is because the designers know the hardware within the consoles will never change. In turn, the processing efficiency of the GPU and CPU is higher than that of a system capable of utilizing a wide range of hardware (i.e. any personal computer). Apple does the same thing so they can milk more performance out of cheaper hardware. It's good business.

So if you were to somehow plop a rusty old GTX 470 into a PS4, it simply would not work due to lack of driver support, but even if it had the necessary drivers, I really doubt it would run any better, as the GPU clock is at least 10% lower and has half as much VRAM available. Many have speculated that the current PS4 GPU is most similar to the HD 7790 or GTX 660. This does not even lay mention to the fact the game developers work hard to optimize games for their respective consoles as well, further enhancing the efficiency.

PS, the only consoles I own are an original Xbox 360 and NES, so I'm not defending, just being realistic.

Cheers,

Someone who does professional IT and software development, not a trolling 13 year old PCMR
