How does the Parrot Bebop work? (should I post this here)

Go to solution Solved by Enderman,

OK, that explains a lot. Thanks :)

You're welcome :)

I don't understand how you control the Parrot with WIFI. Do you have to run around with a router if you want to fly it away from your home?

no you just connect your phone/tablet to its own wifi network

you can only fly it as far as its wifi reaches

I was also wondering what's better; the parrot, or the DJI Phantom 2 vision+?

Edit: To me the DJI seems to be able to take a harder hit if you was to crash it.

It depends on the use, but (IMHO) the DJI is more of a true quadcopter whereas the Parrot Bebop is more of a toy (due to you using an iPad to control it and the feature set).
