Buying Windows 8(.1) Online Internationally - Could it work?

Giganizer300PRO

So, I want to get Windows 8.1. And, of course, I want it to be as cheap as possible. Now I could by it at the Microsoft shop in my country, but it's ummm not really the cheapest option.

So I want to buy Windows 8.1 online, but I don't know how this goes, I have never done it before. I don't want to get scammed and I don't want to be left out because I bought a "faulty version" or because there's some legal problem with my country (or whatever, you see where I'm going).

I imagine this is how this would work:

1. Pay

2. Download installer (or whatever it's called)

3. Install (upgrade)

I thought that was only for 8-8.1 users. not 7?

Only upgrade if you're using something below Windows 7. Just saying. It's not really worth the upgrade unless you get it for free IMO.

if you're a student you can get it at a discounted price from the windows store, for around 60€. I have to buy a license as well but with Windows 10 imminent I'm waiting for its release and buy it directly.

As others have said, I'd just wait for Win 10. It will indeed be free to Win 7 users along with Win 8, 8.1 users.

Yea I tried that and they say "their system does not support elementary schools". And it's also a small country with bad economy (you can't even get a 970, unless you somehow get it from US or somewhere).

My friends who bought from that seller all got legit keys.

Does that second link look like a pirate site/download to you?

Seller has been at it for years...

Looks good then.
