whats the difference between PAL and NTSC when running games on dolphin? 

Space Journal #1: So Apparently i  was dropped on the moon like i'm a mars rover, in a matter of hours i have found the transformers on the dark side of the moon. Turns out its not that dark since dem robots are filled with lights, i waved hi to the Russians on the space station, turns out all those stories about space finding humans instead of the other way around is true(soviet Russia joke). They threw me some Heineken beer and I've been sitting staring at the people of this forum and earth since.

Possible: names.

For example Mario Kart Wii has quite a few name changes.

What is also possible is compatibility, since sometimes PAL and NTSC games differ a bit.

 

Pretty sure it usually doesn't change much

Pal is the European standard for televisions.

NTSC is the American standard.

If you get a Pal disc, it will only work on PAL systems.

Region-free discs will work with any!

but im running it on dolphin. and i dont know if dolphin emulator plays both.

The only major difference between emulating PAL and NTSC in the maximum frame rate. PAL is 50Hz while NTSC is 60Hz

I'm not experienced with Dolphin, but with PS2 emulators they ask you to get a bios file of your PS2, thus determining PAL/NTSC...

If Dolphin did not ask this, it will probably be region free!

I'm not experienced with Dolphin, but with PS2 emulators they ask you to get a bios file of your PS2, thus determining PAL/NTSC...

If Dolphin did not ask this, it will probably be region free!

dolphin was sooo easy to setup. non experienced techies would be fine with the default settings. it was just download and play.

Did some research, source: wikipedia

 

 

 

Emulated software features Ability to skip Wii Menu or GameCube BIOS when starting a game
  • Ability to start games regardless of region
  • NAND emulation
  • WAD (downloadable games) support (mostly used for WiiWare, Virtual Console, etc.)
  • Support for homebrew

 

This means that Dolphin or is a region-free system, or it auto-adapts to the region.

No need to worry about Pal and NTSC!
