Unable to gain root access in Ubuntu 15.04

Go to solution Solved by Dabombinable,

Do you have a root account? Remember sudo in the terminal.

If neither work, run

sudo passwd rootIf you want to disable it.sudo passwd -l root

That didn't work, however I tried to copy it through terminal the same way I would using DOS and it worked: sudo cp /home/<myusername>/Documents/GPUs.txt /var/lib/fahclient

I'm trying to copy the GPUs.txt file across to the F"H directory, however I am unable to do that due to being unable to get root permission. I used to be able to do this under Ubuntu 14.04, so is there anything 'special' I need to do in Ubuntu 15 to access folders under root access?

Yeah. For now on, it's a good idea to use sudo in front of commands when installing/changing files.
