Is there a way to play MP3's with a 5:1 sound system?

I was wondering if its possible to play mp3 files out all of the speakers not just the front, left and right.

I know mp3's dont support 5:1 but it would be nice to hear music through all of them.

Can i use like an emulator or somthing?

Can I assume you've got them plugged into a laptop and the speakers have analogue inputs?

Yeah its called my Matrix button on my Logitech X-540 :), It encodes on the fly and can give a stereo video/song semi 5.1 surround.
